The last day of my senior year is just right around the corner. I have many plans and goals as an incoming freshman in Stony Brook. My plan for next year is to meet new people and open up to trying new things. I haven't been active in clubs or sports so I would like to join more extracurricular activities. My main goal is to learn to adjust to a new setting and get used to living outside of my home. I need to learn how to become independent and responsible as a young adult.
FMHS has given me many memories that I will be able to remember for a long time. One highlight from FMHS was from when I was in Random Acts of Kindness club. We were able to create fun games and activities for the school to participate in. I had a fun time planning and organizing field day towards the end of my Junior year. Another highlight was the winter intersession because I've never experienced only focusing on one class. I was in a class called DNA Barcoding and my group did a project dealing with food fraud. There are many other memories that I can list but these are just what stood out to me the most.
Over the years in FMHS, I have improved on my writing skills and creativity skills. Since we include writing in pretty much all our projects, I am now able to write good essays. Also, our school is project based so this helped me come up with more creative ideas for my assignments. I've improved in these skills but I still haven't mastered them. I can make more improvement and take these skills with me throughout college and beyond.
